Murex Wins Most Innovative API Framework/Microservices Architecture for Trading Category via A-Team

PARIS, May 5, 2025—Murex is pleased to announce it has won the Most Innovative API Framework/Microservices Architecture for Trading category at this year’s A-Team Innovation Awards.

Murex's front-to-back-to-risk platform, MX.3, is utilized daily by 60,000 capital markets professionals across 300 financial institutions. To further expand its usage, Murex has introduced a suite of new REST APIs that addresses growing demand for digitalization. These APIs enable access to MX.3 business functions. This access is increasingly popular among Murex customers.

Financial institutions can now programmatically distribute MX.3's single source of truth for trade details, static data, market data and risk figures across their enterprise, as well as their own customers. This eliminates duplication and reconciliation issues between systems.

For traders and sales, the MX.3 APIs are an invaluable tool for pricing, booking and querying any trade—whether cash or derivative, vanilla or highly structured. They can also apply their own what-if scenarios to trades and positions to assess impacts on valuation and risk. With the MX.3 interpolation engine, curves, prices and greeks also accessible via APIs, quants can build their end-to-end logic that combines MX.3 core functions to achieve their own analysis.

"These APIs are unleashing the creativity of our customers," said Murex Head of APIs Product Management Remy Annonier. Traders and quants, who use spreadsheets or notebook interfaces such as Jupyter as their sandbox for developing or testing ideas, can now easily retrieve real-time data and analytics from MX.3.

"Every day, our customers share new ideas that mix several MX.3 REST APIs with their own developments and data, for digitalization or end user computing (EUC) use cases,” Annonier said. “Our use of standards like OpenAPI, an API-first approach and high-quality documentation ensure smooth developer experience, low entry cost to interact with MX.3 and no constraints on the development ecosystem. It also allows involving actors beyond the usual developer profiles, facilitated by the advent of Gen AI tools."

Now in their fifth year, the A-Team Awards celebrate innovative projects and teams across the vendor and practitioner communities that utilize new and emerging technologies to deliver high-value solutions for financial institutions in capital markets, with a specific focus on data management, trading technology, ESG and regulatory technology suppliers.

“Many congratulations to Murex in winning the Most Innovative API Framework/Microservices Architecture for Trading award in the A-Team Innovation Awards 2025. Murex should be deservedly proud of its achievement in a closely fought and highly competitive contest,” said Angela Wilbraham, CEO, A-Team Group, who hosted the A-Team Innovation Awards.
