Murex Again Technology Company of the Year at Risk Asia Awards

MX.3 platform also wins Pricing and Trading System of the Year and Best Structured Products Support System

SINGAPORE, October 23, 2026—The Risk Asia Awards has once again recognized Murex's leading role in helping APAC financial institutions continuously adapt to regulatory, technology and market changes, with a strong focus on innovation, operational resilience, managed services and AI-enabled transformation.

  • Murex again won technology company of the year. Since 2018, it is its eighth victory in the vendor or company of the year category.
  • Murex’s pricing and trading system of the year honor highlights MX.3's cross-asset pricing, trading and risk management capabilities, which enable clients to manage complex products and risks across asset classes on a single platform.
  • The best structured products support system award showcases MX.3's support for structured products innovation across rates, equities, FX and hybrid products, which enables institutions to accelerate time-to-market and maintain robust risk management and scalability.

“What sets Murex apart this year is something our clients tell us directly: Beyond a platform that works today, they want a partner that keeps them current tomorrow,” said Nick Thomas, APAC regional head at Murex. “We do that through constant platform innovation, managed services that industrialize upgrades and security, and 400 specialists across eight APAC offices who know the local markets inside out. That combination is hard to replicate.”

Today, diverse financial institutions across APAC operate on MX.3 across all asset classes. This includes 20 of the Top 30 Asian banks, alongside treasuries, neobanks and commodities firms. These clients are supported by a dense network of eight regional centers.

Rapid regulatory change, rising cyber risks and digital assets and AI evolution are demanding financial institutions adopt technology innovation faster. Traditional upgrade models built around periodic and resource-intensive projects can make it difficult to keep pace with this change.

MXevolve Upgrade-as-a-Service (UaaS) addresses this challenge by turning upgrades into a more regular and predictable process. Through continuous testing tailored to each client’s MX.3 environment, Murex can identify potential impacts earlier and reduce testing and validation required from client teams. This helps institutions keep systems current, strengthen security, maintain regulatory readiness and adopt MX.3 innovations more quickly.

Pricing and trading system

MX.3 stands apart as a true cross-asset platform: extensive product and model coverage with real-time position management, operating on a single framework from front to back to risk. Eighty-five percent of APAC clients actively operate across three or more asset classes within MX.3. This continues to expand, with 87 percent of clients investing in their MX.3 instance in FY26 through product and module extensions.

The cross-asset challenge starts with risk management. LiveBook, MX.3’s server-based, cross-asset calculation framework, delivers live P&L, Greeks and position updates. It replaces end-of-day reporting and heavy intra-day evaluations with a continuously refreshed, firm-wide risk view.

New market conditions call for solutions that can manage correlated risks across asset classes in a consistent and timely manner. Murex continues to enhance MX.3 in response to APAC market needs, supporting developments in electricity trading, renewed interest in FX TARN variations, evolving ELN and autocallable structures, and curve APIs.

“What clients told us this year is simple,” said Matthieu Avanthey, head of functional product for Asia Pacific at Murex. “When correlations move across rates, FX, credit, equities, commodities and crypto, among other asset classes, trading desks cannot afford to reconcile disconnected systems or approximate hedges. MX.3 clients didn't. They priced, managed and rebalanced in one place, in real time, and extended that pricing into hedging flows and distribution channels through APIs. One framework, one pricing engine, one risk view and the means to act on it."

Best structured products support system

Murex’s structured product extension delivery activity in APAC has grown steadily over three years. Rate structures remain consistently strong. Equity‑linked products continue to see demand, driven by expansion initiatives. In FX, after most clients implemented TARN structures in earlier years, recent volatility triggered a sharp surge in trading activity, reflecting renewed client engagement.
