Discover Murex with Zhixin

Hello there! I'm Dang Zhixin, a recent Fintech graduate from NTU. I started my Murex journey with the Solutions for Customization team as an intern in March 2023 and secured a permanent position in August. During this internship, I was exposed to Enterprise Integration Patterns and Apache Camel, and was able to apply all the coding skills I acquired during my studies. I am beyond thrilled to be an Application Integration Consultant at Murex!

Beyond tech, I love Genshin Impact, acting, travel, and sports.

What is the role of an Application Integration Consultant within Murex?

To make it easier to understand, our missions are mainly divided into two parts. The first part involves participating in implementation projects, delivering interfaces for electronic communication networks (e.g., online trading platforms), clearing systems, customers' internal systems (e.g., core banking), and trade migrations. The second consists of providing technical support (phone, email, CRM, on-site) to customers, ensuring successful follow-up of issues from notification to resolution and validation.

What's your day-to-day like?

My typical workday at Murex is a combination of teamwork, training, and task prioritizing. I start by reviewing my tasks, focusing on training and customer support. Regular team meetings help us share insights and tackle challenges together. To take a bit of a break, I enjoy spending time out with the Solutions for Customization team at our social events and at lunch breaks in our badminton club.

What do you enjoy most about your job and the tasks you perform?

My position allows me to help clients overcome technical challenges. The closure of each case is a personal achievement, knowing that the knowledge I've gained can positively impact our clients. The continuous learning opportunities that are embedded in my job keep me interested, and working in a collaborative team atmosphere improves my abilities, which eventually leads to more efficient customer service.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to work in your field?

When considering a career in our field, I believe two key aspects stand out: Familiarity with various programming languages, especially Java, provides a competitive edge. However, equally crucial is the ability to systematically analyze and approach problem-solving. The second point is effective communication and teamwork. As a consultant, interacting with clients and colleagues from different departments is a daily occurrence. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate contribute to the efficiency of the work.
