The Murex Legal Department supports the various divisions of the Murex Group (business development, human resources, finance, research and development, etc.), and presently consists of seven (7) attorneys and four (4) paralegals globally.  


The Murex Legal Department wishes to hire a full-time Paralegal to be based in New York City, to assist the MNA General Counsel in his duties and otherwise support the activities of the Murex Legal Department.  The functions of the MNA General Counsel include overall responsibility for New York law matters affecting the Murex Group, including drafting and negotiation of New York law contracts, and other contract, corporate and internal matters of MNA and its affiliates.

The position will include the following responsibilities:


  • Contract Drafting, Processing and Proofreading
  • Preparation of draft contracts based on standard contract forms, including drafting of contract provisions based on Murex standard forms.
  • Correspondence regarding contract matters, including coordinating distribution of contract drafts and execution versions to counterparties (clients, suppliers, etc.)
  • Preparation of issues tables to assist with negotiation of contracts.
  • Coordinating internal signing process.
  • Filing and contract document management.
  • Proofreading of all English language contracts for the Murex Legal Department.


  • Corporate and Internal Matters
  • Assisting with corporate and internal matters, including organization and management of corporate documentation (contract records, insurance policies, corporate securities documents, etc.).


  • Legal Research and Organization
  • Conducting legal research on specific legal issues, and organization of research files and memoranda.
  • Assisting with the engagement and management of external legal counsel.



  • General
  • Filing of legal matters and data/records management.
  • Management of lists of ongoing matters at MNA and organisational support to the MNA General Counsel.
  • Coordination of meetings and general administrative duties.




  • Professional experience
  • Legal training, with at least 3 years’ experience as a paralegal with responsibility for contract administration and management matters.
  • Ability to master commercial proposals, negotiate pricing and translate to Murex’s template.
  • Extensive proofreading experience.
  • Excellent MS Word and data management skills.
  • Familiarity with drafting aspects of software license agreements (including detailed commercial exhibits and provisions) is a plus.
  • Previous work experience with a software or technology company, or with a law firm department providing intellectual property law and/or technology law services, is desirable.
